As a lifelong resident of the Greater Philadelphia region and an active civic leader, Gregg Melinson provides a unique perspective on the people, business and politics of his hometown. During the past 20 years, Gregg has helped lead his Philadelphia-headquartered law firm to national prominence, while also spending some time in government, having served as deputy general counsel to then-Governor Tom Ridge. Gregg has worn a number of hats in the region's civic arena. Taking an early interest in the vitality of Greater Philadelphia, Gregg was the youngest-ever chair of the board of directors of the nearly century-old Pennsylvania Economy League. Currently, Gregg serves on the boards of
the CEO Council for Growth - Greater Philadelphia's premiere business leadership organization - and the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
Whether it's an anecdote from his years spent in the civic and business worlds or some insight into life at home with his wife and two young boys, Gregg has a special way of connecting with his listeners. Gregg earned his undergraduate degree from LaSalle University and his law degree from Duke University, so it's no surprise that he's a longtime college basketball fan. You might also recognize his voice from his regular appearances on Inside Story, a weekly political and public opinion roundtable televised on Philadelphia's ABC affiliate, WPVI-TV.
Gregg spends most workdays as a lawyer practicing at Drinker Biddle & Reath in Center City, counseling a variety of big and small clients, from multinational corporations employing thousands to emerging companies in the Greater Philadelphia region. He also oversees his firm's marketing efforts nationwide -- so he knows that people's perceptions matter, and he's interested in hearing what people think. While Gregg is usually never at a loss for an opinion --just ask his wife -- he's more interested in what you have to say. |
